If you've been keeping up on our latest blog series, then you already know how important it is to camouflage yourself properly during a game of paintball. So far we've gone over camouflaging the shiny part of your paintball gun, distorting your shape, moving properly and staying quiet. The following is a list of the last couple of things that you should consider when you are camouflaging yourself for a fun game of paintball!:

  • Pay attention to color - Although regular camouflage colors and patterns are generally appropriate, before you go out and buy them, consider the terrain that you will be playing in. The best way to ensure that you will stay hidden is to match your clothes according to the terrain that your game will take place in. You should also think about the color of your paintball equipment. A brightly colored used paintball gun will only make you stick out like a sore thumb! Black gear is almost always the best option.
  • Don't forget about your shadow! - Pay attention to where your shadow lies, because once your opponent sees your shadow, your location will be a dead give away. Best practice as far as shadows are concerned is to stay out of natural light as much as possible. Hide in the shadows that occur in the arena. Hide in the shadows of large trees, buildings, bunkers, etc. If there are no shadows around, your best bet is to stay as low. The lower you are, the less noticeable your shadow will be!
